The Fear-Facing Feat We Easily Miss

While enjoying a 50plus Lifestyle Lunch or other event, we easily miss what it took for our speaker. It required slides, sure. And, they stand before an audience, scary for many people. Add to the pressure, their slides and content are their creation and a vulnerable expression. This is their presentation, open to judgment. They hope to inspire curiosity and they intend to deliver with clarity and focus. Hoping to be a hit. Naturally, they hope for applause. Mostly though, they hope to be understood and to get through it without mishap, mistake or misunderstanding. Educating it hard. Presenting is terrifying. Public speaking, as author storyteller Harry Hall reminds us, is the only thing people fear more than death.

Exceptional By Design

A spike of joy in hosting an educational luncheon hits when the audience truly connects with the presenter and their message. The presenter feels it. The audience enjoys it. Everyone learns something new and feels like they met a new friend and connection. When this magic occurs, it is due to the personal preparations and passions injected into the message and content by this person, combined with their practiced proficiency in delivering it well. This is exceptional, and baked into the design when someone who is delivering the message is also the one who delivers the service and knows their business inside and out from many years of gaining unique insights.

A Special Thanks for Education-Based Professionals

Providers who also educate earn my business. They show their competence and passion. They prove they know their business. Especially valuable, we get to know them personally as we learn about their expertise. As a benefit of hosting our lunch and learn, I admire and value education-based businesses. And, as our guest you already know that our sponsors are great examples of this virtue!
